Based on the methods of Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, author of Full Catastrophe Living and Wherever You Go, There You Are.
Two practical workshops focusing on learning mindfulness techniques and applying them in daily life to reduce excessive stress and pain.
The presenters are David Weinberg and Karin Pfluger, StressCare teachers.
These sessions will demonstrate how to use mindfulness as a daily practice to help cope with the stress and anguish many of us are experiencing in these uncertain times. Proven techniques of mindfulness practice - body scan, sitting meditation, gentle yoga, walking meditation - will be demonstrated and practiced by participants. Brief journal exercises, small group discussion and reflection will help us open to our needs, resources and patterns of stress reactivity. The qualities of mindfulness - openness, compassion and patience - will be highlighted. Participants will receive CD's and written materials as take home resources.
*To attend these sessions, contact StressCare by telephone or email to say you're coming and get directions. The fee is due one week before the workshop begins. You are warmly welcome.
